Newsletter – October 2020

Dear Parents / Caregivers,

Term Dates: The last day for Term 4 is Friday 11 December.

Term 1 2021 begins Tuesday 2 February (Monday 1 February is Auckland Anniversary Day).

Fees: Fees are $3.00 per hour for those children not receiving ‘20 hours ECE’ and there are 9 weeks in this term. For those enrolled on Mondays you do not have to pay for Labour Day 26 October. The invoice you receive will be for the whole term. However, you are welcome to pay in instalments.

Kindy Show: In previous years we have worked with the children throughout Term 4 to produce a show for the end of the year. After much thought and consideration, we have decided not to produce a show this year due to the uncertainty of the COVID levels.

Staffing: We are pleased to inform you that Louise Binedell will be joining our teaching team as a permanent staff member. She is currently investigating a post graduate course to gain her Early Childhood degree next year.

Sunhats: Our Sun Safety Policy states that staff and children will wear sunhats when outside in Terms 1 and 4 of each year. To help us comply with this policy please ensure your child has a named sunhat in their bag each day during this term, regardless of the weather. Hats should be full brimmed or have a peak and flaps. You may find it easier to have a hat especially for kindy, which can then be left in your child’s bag. To manage the risk of skin damage from exposure to the sun, children who do not have their own sunhats will have limited time outside. Please be aware that kindy does not provide sun block.

Photos: Thank you to Alan Clark for freely giving up his time last term to take the group photos of each day. These are now available to order. Please pay either online, identifying the payment is for photos, or by cash to me.

Kind regards,

Patsy
